Can’t Believe I Ate the Whole Thing!

We’re doing something radically different in one of our Weight Loss, God’s Way ProgramsFaith in Action.

We’re sharing with each other (and of course, with God) EVERY TIME we break our boundaries. Yup, every time.

Do you think you could do that? Regardless of how many times you broke your boundaries—2x, 5x, 10x a day?

Would you feel confident enough, humble enough, and trusting enough to tell others every time you ate something you had not planned?

Well, our fellow sisters on the journey have risen to the occasion.

Why?

  • We’re sick and tired of lying to ourselves and making up excuses for why we did not do what we said we were going to do.
  • We’re sick and tired of not getting the results we desire.
  • We’re sick and tired of carrying around all the excess weight.
  • We’re sick and tired of feeling shame, guilt, frustration, and hopelessness in the area of their health.
  • We’re sick and tired of being sick and tired.

So, it’s time for radical truth!

Taking a cue from two powerful scriptures about accountability and confessions, the challenge is simple.

Every time you break your boundaries:

1.  Renew Your Mind (using one of the WLGW Reset Strategies in the program)

2.  Be accountable to your fellow sisters in the group.

“Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective” (James 5:16).

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9).

We’re classifying breaking our boundaries as a (besetting) sin because it causes a separation between us and God.

The Result:

More trust in God as you learn how to consistently turn your troubles and trials over to him.

More awareness of your emotional eating and a deeper understanding of why you do what you do.

Feeling restored and whole in a loving environment by your sisters-in-love.

Enjoying freedom from guilt and shame that you would have internalized in the past.

Feeling empowered by rendering the enemy powerless as he can no longer use your secrets against you.

Confidence and motivation to stick to your goal and become more aware of your habits, patterns, and limiting beliefs.

Stronger faith as you learn to put your faith before your feelings and learn how to submit your health journey to God.

Weight loss as a result of all of the above points!!!

I’m so proud of my fellow sisters that share in our group each day. It’s not easy to be vulnerable, but it’s so worth it. The goal is that as time goes on, our ‘transgressions’ become less and less as the Lord becomes bigger in us. In the meantime, we continue to humble ourselves.

So, I ask you again. Would you go to God each and every time you broke your boundaries?

Do you trust that He can restore you to wholeness?

If you’ve never thought about it or never tried it, give it a try. It is a very humbling experience but one that will have powerful rewards and benefits.

If you don’t have a community of sisters that you feel you can trust to share such an intimate part of your life with, you’re always welcome in the Weight Loss, God’s Way family. A close-knit group of health-conscious Christian sisters who love the Lord and want to glorify Him with their bodies.

If you try this, even for just one day, I would love to hear from you.
