My word for the year is Proclaim. Why? Because last year, the Lord showed me the power of my words.
My corresponding theme scripture is “The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit” (Proverbs 18:21).
As a result, I’m beginning to declare and confess instead of criticizing and complaining. Here are some of my declarations. I encourage you to declare them too to help you experience new levels of health, new levels of joy, new levels of freedom, and new levels of peace in your life this year and always.
- I declare that I will experience new levels of health, new levels of joy, new levels of freedom, and new levels of peace in my life as I reach a healthier weight this year.
- I declare that challenges, strongholds, and barriers that have hindered my weight loss efforts in the past have already started breaking away from me in the Name of Jesus.
- I declare that my desire to exercise will be increased; I will look for new opportunities to be active every day to promote my health in the Name of Jesus.
- I declare that my desire for wholesome healthy foods will be increased; my taste buds will crave only pure and natural foods that will give me boundless energy and sustenance in the Name of Jesus.
- I declare that my limiting beliefs and patterns will be radically changed and I will develop new healthy mindsets, new beliefs, and new ways of being in my health in the Name of Jesus.
- I declare that I will be at the healthy weight that God wants me to weigh through positive, proactive, and progressive means in the Name of Jesus.
- I declare that I will be a blessing to someone else as the Lord helps me in the Name of Jesus.
- I declare that I will experience divine health in the Name of Jesus.
I stand in agreement with you on your weight release journey and look forward to hearing your testimonies this year.

Dear Cathy,
Your ten declarations are so inspiring and thought-provoking. I will certainly try to read these over and over every day if I can. One of the things I haven’t started is the exercise part. I intend to make every effort to start walking like I used to.
Thanks again for sharing your thoughts we me!
Sincerely,
Martha Price
You’re most welcome Martha. Re. the walking… what’s preventing you from starting?
