Worried About Your Adult Children?

How to Pray and Find Peace
How to Pray and Find Peace

Has worrying about your adult children ever kept you up at night?

A few days ago I invited you to send in the names of your adult children so we could pray for them. We had an overwhelming response.

Everyone who submitted a name: your adult children are being prayed for. Thank you for trusting us with them, and we will keep praying.

If you have been worrying about your adult children alone, or struggling silently, you do not have to go through it that way. God made us to help each other through hard things.

Paul told the believers in Galatia to help each other with their burdens. He wrote it right after urging them to gently restore someone who had fallen, so he meant it as something a community does for each other.

“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”

Galatians 6:2, NIV

When you are worried about your children at 2 AM, it is easy to replay every what-if, reach for a snack, or scroll your phone. The better move is to turn to the Father.

As we wrap up our month, our Stress-Free, God’s Way month, for me, it was a powerful month of surrender. My one intentional move was returning to the Father.

Every time I noticed myself worrying or getting stressed, I turned back to Him on purpose. That one move helped more than anything else I tried.

It costs nothing, it takes a minute, and you can do it anywhere. Focus on the return.

Your Challenge

Choose One Stress-Relieving Practice and Keep It

Weight Loss God’s Way changes small habits one or two at a time, and that is how The Breakthrough Method works. Here is the one habit I am asking you to keep.

Choose one practice for your stress — a one-minute pause, a prayer said out loud, or a short walk — and keep doing it in November, even when you pick up a new habit.

If you want a place to start, practice returning. The moment you notice yourself worrying, turn back to the Father.

This Sunday, November 1, we begin Stay Steadfast, God’s Way, where we get through the messy middles of the journey together. Stay tuned for details on how you can join us.

Steadfast means you keep practicing what you learned, so do not drop one habit just to pick up another.

Imagine a community of women who pray for each other’s children and keep the habit that steadies them. That is what we are building together.

Father, thank you for every woman reading this. May she keep surrendering everything and everyone to You, and may her adult children feel Your peace. Amen.
