Who Told You That?
Spirit-Filled Sundays · September 6, 2026 · by Cathy Morenzie
When I used to wake up in the morning, the noise had already started in my head:
✗ You’re tired.
✗ You don’t have the time today.
✗ You don’t need to work out today.
✗ Don’t be so obsessive.
That was the soundtrack most mornings, for years.
I do not wake up to that anymore. What changed was not a better morning routine. I learned that I do not have to accept every thought as my own — and I learned how to evict the ones that were never from God. I used the very principles I teach in the Breakthrough Method to get free.
You may know that voice.
Most of the time, it just sounds like you. You’ve tried this a hundred times. You got yourself into this. What did you expect at your age? That’s just a natural part of getting older. Why bother?
And every single morning, it talks you out of what you know, deep down, is the best thing for you.
In Weight Loss God’s Way, we are focused on moving our bodies this month. So let’s talk about the voices that talk you out of it — the ones that start before your feet even hit the floor. Have you ever stopped and asked them: who told you that?
Because that question — who told you that — is older than you think. In the very beginning, after Adam and Eve ate from the tree and hid, God came walking in the garden. His first question was not “what did you do.” It was this:
“Who told you that you were naked?”
Genesis 3:11
In one moment, Adam had come to believe something about himself — that he was exposed, not enough, something to hide. And God’s first response was a question: who told you that? Because it did not come from Him.
The voice that says it is too late, that it is just your age, that you always quit — that did not come from Him either. And you were never meant to live under it.
This is exactly what I want to go deeper on with you in a free master class called Who Told You That? — the lies underneath your stuckness, where they came from, and how to finally hand them back to God. If that voice has been running your mornings and your meals for years, come.
This Month’s Practice — Challenge The Voice, Then Move
Weight Loss God’s Way is not a diet or a weight loss guide. It is a movement — changing the way women approach their health and their weight-releasing journey. This month, we are getting active.
Your one step this week: tomorrow morning, when the noise starts, ask it one question — who told you that? — and then move anyway.
Do not argue with it, and do not obey it. Just question it, and move for a few minutes — a walk, a stretch, a few songs. This is noticing, not a vow.
This is how we do it here — one principle at a time, little by little. Move your body this week. And every time that noise starts, ask it the only question that matters.
Walking it with you,
Cathy
