Take One Day at a Time

Before Weight Loss, God’s Way (WLGW), I would consider myself to have vacillated between yo-yo dieting and self-sabotaging my progress. My highest weight was 201 pounds. My current weight is 176 pounds.

I previously tried various weight-loss avenues because of the desire to be healthy in all aspects of life; to really present my body as a living sacrifice; to bring my appetite under control, and the belief that God was calling for a higher level of discipline

Several years ago, a friend shared that she had discovered Cathy’s first book, Healthy by Design, a biblically-based approach to weight release. We embarked on the journey together. I have grown in my relationship with the Lord. And I was honored to become a member of the WLGW Ministry Team.

One of the blessings from the program is that God really is the core and focal point of all that we do. In Him, we live, move, and have our being. As we are God-focused, we are then able to be God-centered and God-directed. This ministry brings women together from every part of the world, uniting all nationalities for the single purpose of seeking God. We commit our hearts to him by understanding the depth, length, and height of His love for us. Then, we can allow healing, deliverance, and breakthrough to spring forth from the truth of who we are in Him. It’s an exciting journey with women who have had the same life experiences as I do.

The monthly challenges are life-changing. The month-end prayer and fasting days are transformative. And the ‘Seek Him Saturday’ sessions are enlightening and full of revelation. Cathy has a gentle yet impactful approach by having us concentrate on one thing at a time, little by little, making progress, not perfection.

“I am more mindful of the choices I make, and I am keenly aware of His abiding presence and ability to help me in every aspect of life.”

I have prayed and asked for wisdom, which he promises to give to those who ask. And I have prayed and asked to be so close to Him that if He whispers, I hear and obey. He is granting my requests. I would say that with God, all things are possible.

We are our own worst critics, and even as I prepared to submit my success story, when I looked at my before picture, it was an eye-opener. I did not realize how far I had come and how successful I’ve been by committing the journey to God and taking one day at a time.

My prayer is the prayer of Ephesians 3:14-21:

Never doubt God’s mighty power to work in you and accomplish all this. He will achieve infinitely more than your greatest request, your most unbelievable dream, and exceed your wildest imagination! He will outdo them all, for his miraculous power constantly energizes you. (TPT)
