Faith Over Festivities: Honoring Your Health with Weight Loss, God’s Way

This Matters: Staying Within Your Boundaries This Holiday Season

Have you ever noticed how one “holiday meal” can turn into a whole season of regret? It starts at Thanksgiving, rolls right through Christmas, and before you know it—you’re frustrated by January and back to square one by March.

This year, I want to help you break that pattern. Let’s start with one simple phrase: “This matters.”

Every bite matters. Every skipped workout matters. Every “just this once” moment matters—not because of calories or guilt, but because you matter. Your body matters to God. It’s His temple, and what you do with it reflects how much you value His gift.

Think about it: how often do we tell ourselves, It’s just one piece of pie or I’ll start fresh tomorrow? But when you remind yourself, this matters, you’re anchoring your choices in truth. You’re telling your body, your mind, and your spirit that you’re not living on autopilot—you’re living with intention.

You don’t have to give up enjoying the holidays. You just have to stay mindful of what matters most—honoring God through how you care for yourself. So before you reach for seconds or decide to skip your walk, pause and whisper to yourself, this matters… because I matter.

Let that phrase guide you through the season. One decision at a time, one meal at a time, one act of obedience at a time.
