Go Deeper: What’s Really Driving Your Cravings
Have you ever caught yourself saying, “This year will be different,” only to end up right back where you started? You plan your workouts, clean out your pantry, and set your goals—but somehow, the change never sticks. It’s not because you’re lazy or lack discipline. It’s because the real battle isn’t on your plate—it’s in your heart.
When Hunger Isn’t About Food
Most of the time, what we call “hunger” is something else entirely. We eat because we’re bored, anxious, lonely, or angry. Food becomes a quick way to fill what only God can heal. I used to think I needed more willpower, but what I really needed was more surrender. The turning point came when I stopped asking, “What should I eat?” and started asking, “Lord, what am I feeling right now—and what do You want me to do with it?”
Turning Emotions Over to God
That’s where breakthrough begins. When frustration hits, when the craving feels strong—pause. Pray. Tell Him exactly how you feel. “Lord, I’m tired. Lord, I’m angry. Be my peace. Be my strength.” Every time you do that, you invite Him into the struggle instead of trying to fight it alone.
This Year, Don’t Just Set Goals—Surrender Them
Plan your meals and workouts, yes—but also make a plan for your emotions. Because healing doesn’t come from control; it comes from connection. When you turn your feelings over to God, food loses its grip, and peace takes its place.
That’s the deeper work of Weight Loss, God’s Way.
