ABOUT CATHY

My Bio

In Brief: Cathy Morenzie has been a leader in the health and wellness industry for over 30 years. She once struggled with emotional eating herself, but experienced a powerful breakthrough when she realized that the answer to her problems lay in ‘faith, not food’! Now, Cathy’s life mission is to equip millions to live a healthy lifestyle by helping them to rediscover their true identity in Christ.

Full bio: Cathy Morenzie, a noted personal trainer, author, blogger and presenter, has been a leader in the health and wellness industry for over 35 years. Her impact has influenced hundreds of thousands of people over the years to help them lose weight and develop positive attitudes about their bodies, diet and fitness.

Over the years, she has seen some of the most powerful and faith-filled people struggle with their health and their weight. She wondered how it was possible for people to exercise so much power and authority, and yet feel so powerless in the area of health and fitness? How is it that we have been given the power and authority to cast out demons, yet we can’t stop ourselves from eating a piece of chocolate? Why do we struggle with so many issues around our weight such as emotional eating, physical inactivity, self control, guilt and feelings and low-self esteem?

Over the years, Cathy Morenzie– a rational, disciplined, faith-filled, personal trainer struggled with her own weight, with emotional eating, self-doubt and low self-esteem. She tried to change just about everything about herself for much of her life so she knows what it’s like to feel stuck.

Every insecurity, challenge and negative emotion that she experienced was equipping her to help other people who faced the same struggles – especially women.

Allow her to help you to reach your health and wellness goals through her series of books, ‘Healthy by Design’ – a series of daily weight loss devotionals, or ‘The Word on Weight Loss’ – a collection of articles from Cathy spanning her nearly 15 years as a Christian weight loss coach, her various online programs, personal coaching or book her to speak at your event of on your broadcast.

Best-selling, award-winning author and Christian weight loss coach, Cathy Morenzie is set to release her sixth book, Healthy Eating, God’s Way. The latest in the popular ‘Healthy by Design’ series of weight loss devotionals helps readers end emotional eating, by focusing on the ‘why’ they eat, and what they’re really craving – faith, not food.

Author Cathy Morenzie notes, “Until you understand why you do what you do, you will continue to repeat it.”

There are a lot of Christian diets books, but what use is any diet, if you can’t maintain it? Cathy understands that in order to change how you eat, you must change your mindsets around food first. Over the 28 days of the devotional Cathy pairs emotional and physiological strategies with simple, practical, bible-based truths, providing essential tips and tools to let go of unhealthy eating patterns so can align your eating habits with your faith.

Motivating

Cathy Morenzie’s wisdom surrounding healthy eating and inviting God as part of my health journey has literally changed my life. Her mix of practical suggestions, insight on psychology and physiology, and scripture are so helpful and motivating. This book has helped me to shift my mindset around the foods I put into my body and actually implement changes. I read this devotion daily and found that I reflected on the message all day and really looked forward to the next day’s lesson. If you’re serious about making physical, emotional, and spiritual changes relating to food, I highly recommend this book.

  1. I’ve now read your 5-day devotional plan in my Bible app for the second time in a row! I’m inspired and intrigued by the thought-provoking messages in each devotion. I’m a God-girl first and foremost and love Him with all of my heart, and an athlete and mom. However, I have struggled throughout life with emotional eating and it caught up to me after having my last child. I decided to stop making excuses, get focused, and surrender all areas of my life entirely to God. I’m looking forward to your new book and the lessons to be learned to help me along my fitness journey!

    1. Hi Jocelyn,
Good for you. You might also want to check out Cathy’s Love God, Lose Weight book with focuses on emotional eating (if you haven’t discovered them yet, both Love God, Lose Weight and Healthy Eating, God’s Way have 5-Day devotionals on the Bible app as well. Enjoy!

  2. I found you in the plans section of my bible app. I began my weight loss journey (AGAIN) with your 21Day snippet. God began a new work in me. I’ve since purchased 3 of your books and just completed the first. God has walked and continues to walk in me…. My life is changing! I will have to do the work, but God has given me a playbook and road map that is soooo powerful. I am hearing Him more clearly than I ever have. Thank you for listening to his calling on your life. It’s an important part, at this appointed time, in helping me work toward and manifest the calling on my life. Yay God!!!

  7. Hello Cathy,
Thank you for creating this. I struggle with willpower. I someone’s believe that because I work hard, take good care of my family, or still grieving the death of my sister I have a right to not workout or eat something I know I shouldn’t. I am a very busy person so unless I write it into my calendar it won’t happen. In my family women die young. My mom died at 37, both grandmothers died before 70 and my sister was 51. I am determined to live longer than all of them, but I need to lose 20lbs to keep my health numbers headed in the healthy direction. I look forward to this challenge because I want to keep doing God’s work and my daughter needs me.

    1. Hi Cheree, I pray that curse of early morbidity ends with you in the Mighty Name of Jesus. I pray that you shall have life and have it to the full. Know that you can create a new legacy for your family.

  9. I’m Nigerian and I often find it difficult to follow through with any weight loss plan because most of them are tailored for Caucasian or Non African diets. I hope that when talking about food, I can relate because most of the foodstuff mentioned are not available in my region. I’m also paraplegic and this can be an issue when it comes to exercise. I hope that I’ll be able to achieve my weight loss goals. Thanks for this opportunity. God bless you

  10. Hi Cathy,
I really want to be conscious of how I spend my time, because I think I am short changing myself. I am starting the challenge again. I appreciate your calling to change the lives of so many people. I feel like a failure because I am not God’s best representative in the world as an overweight Christian.

  11. Hi Cathy. I’m so glad I came across your devotionals on The Bible app. I’ve been in need of health and weight support and accountability and I believe I will find it here in your program. I have faith that God will lead me through the times when I struggle and will celebrate with me with each achievement I reach. He is my Rock. All things are possible with Christ who strengthens me. Thank you, God bless you and I’m looking forward to working with you.

  12. Hi Cathy,
I hope I can do this. I have started and stopped too many things these past 10+ years. I disappoint myself often… but I never give up hope. I want to complete this. I want to stop wasting what God has given me: a strong mind, a faithful heart, and a desire to draw ever closer to His will for my life. I believe how I hold onto weight is a reflection of how I inwardly feel about what I deserve. I desire to move forward and release what is holding me captive. God desires my best and I want to receive it from and for Him. Thank you for offering this program for us all.

  13. I’ve been trying every diet there is and they don’t work because my inner self if full of anger & stress. I finally had a revelations that I need to work on my heart and get right with God to make it work, so here I am!! I’m excited!

  14. I love the part you wrote about how God has given us all power to cast out demons but we can’t stop ourselves from eating! I’m so excited for this plan. The Lord knows exactly what I need not what I want. Thank you Mrs. Cathy

  15. I love this! It’s wonderful how God uses our weaknesses to qualify us, and not our strengths. It’s so true that God will use every pain we’ve ever felt and turn it into something good—if we trust in Him. Thank you again for sharing and for the inspiration!

  16. I really like what you said about “I now understand that every insecurity, challenge and negative emotion that I experiences was equipping me to help other people who faced the same struggles – especially women.” That makes me stop, put perspective into my struggles in life and put my hope back into Jesus that eventually it will all be okay.

    Teri

  17. Cathy, I am praying that I will stick with this!!! Pray for me too please!! I have been on so many diets, exercise and pills that I can’t even count them. I lose but I gain it back and then some. I love the Lord and I want to do the right thing with my body so I can do more and live longer. I am 63 years old and a diabetic type 2. I weight right now 193 lbs and I am 5’7″ tall. I have bad knees and may have to have one replaced. I also have arthritis and neurophy in my feet severely and the Plankard Facitis too, severely. I am on insulin but i”m a type 2 .Ive just started to the gym but Im having so much trouble with my feet it is so hurts!!

    1. Blessings to you Carolyn, Give yourself lots of grace and love as you go through this program. Because you’ve been around this mountain so many times, you’ve got an affinity for failure. It will take time to break the habit and form new healthy ones. One of the first steps in your healing is to stop rehearsing your problems and challenges and instead magnify and glorify God. He is bigger than your sore knees, diabetes and every other challenge that you will experience. It will take time Carolyn so be patient and your breakthrough will come.
